·Satsang Ashram

The ashram in Deoghar is a holy place for the followers of Sri Sri Thakur Anukul Chandra. A visit to the Ashram would give one a feel of freedom, peace and progress.

·Baidyanath Dham

Deoghar (the house of Gods) is a centre of peace and harmony that features many socio-cultural and industrial units. It is a popular health resort and an important Hindu pilgrimage.

The ancient temple of Baba Baidyanath (kamana-linga) where one of the twelve jyotirlingas of India is enshrined. Deoghar is believed to be the place where Ravana carrying Lord Shiva on his way to Sri Lanka had stopped, betraying the conditions of a non-stop journey. This failed him in his mission of taking the Lord to Lanka and the Lord remained rooted here. The place become known as BaidyanathDham after Lord Shiva, also known as Baba Baidyanath. Every monsoon (in the month of Shravan) countless devotees undertake a rigorous 100 kms piligrimage on foot from Ajgaibinath (Sultanganj) to offer holy water to Baba Baidyanath. The pilgrimage is deemed complete with homage paid at Basukinath, almost 43 kms from Deoghar.Within the precincts of the main temple, there are 12 other temples, dedicated to different Gods, including Lord Mahadeva.

· Basukinath Temple

Many legendary stories are evolved centering the temple and these tales are believed to be the history behind the establishment of this century-old temple of Lord Shiva. It is believed that during the Sagar Manthan, Lord Vasuki, the serpent God worshipped the Shiva Lingam. For ages it is also believed that the Nagas (snakes of different species) used to bathe the Shiva Lingam with milk and hence the shrine came to be known as Baba Basukinath Dham. The temple is believed to be established in 1596.Eden Garden

·Kanwar Yatra  :

Shiva devotees start their Kanwar Yatra after filling Ganga Jal from the Uttar-Vahini Ganga at Ganga Dham in Sultanganj Ajgaivinath, Bihar and trek to Baba Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar, Jharkhand. The total distance from Suntanganj to Deoghar is about 105 kilometers

·Clock Tower

The Clock Tower of Deoghar is a famous attraction in the city. It is located at Tower Chowk that is a major bustling area in Deoghar. The Clock Tower stands at a height of more than 30 feet. The area around the Clock Tower includes the major markets where a person can buy different items.

·Tirkut Pahar

Apart from Natural Beauty Trikut Parvat is also a popular place for Pilgrimage. In the dense forest on the uphill lies the famous Trikutachal Mahadeva Temple or Trikut Parvat Temple and Saint Dayananda's Ashram.

There is a belief that while Ravana was taking Shivlinga to Lanka from Kailash through this route, he landed at the hilltop in the middle of his voyage; hence, one of the points on the Trikut Hill is named Ravana's Helipad.

·Tapovan  

Tapovan is famous hiking and picnic spot for locals. You can reach the top of the hill inside 30 min by way of stairs. As you climb the steps, you'll see numerous temples and caves at extraordinary heights at the Tapovan Parvat. On the hilltop, you could get a breath-taking view of the landscape.

IMPORTANT POINTS FOR YOUR INFORMATION

Hotels : During the journey there will be mix category of Hotels  in this sector cannot be compared to hotels in Metro cities. Also the power supply in this region is very erratic and there may be long power cuts. The power back up available with  some of the Hotels  is for limited usage and may not last till the power cut is restored.

Meals Deoghar: During the Yatra, most of the Hotels provide simple meals with a limited menu option.      Breakfast will generally include Tea/coffee, Parantha & curd, Poori & Bhaji or similar and Dinner will generally consist of 01 Seasonal Vegetable as available, 01 Dal, Roti, Rice and Sweet. (Achar, Chutney, Papad as accompaniments)

Meals will be on fixed menu basis.

*We shall try to organize variety in the menu on each day as per the availability of items at each place.

TRANSPORT: Vehicle, the drives may be a little bumpy at times and slow due to the terrain and the traffic on roads during the Yatra days. In case, of any breakdown we will have the group travel on best available alternate options as it may take some time for vehicle repair or replacement.

CONNECTIVITY – In the remote locales during Deoghar, mobile and internet connectivity is poor. Vodafone/Airtel/GIO offers the best possible connectivity for telecommunications and internet data usage. Sometimes, due to poor connectivity reaching your group members or accompanying guide/escort/driver over phone may not be possible. Though the accompanying guide/driver will ensure that the group/individual travels together & will keep track of movement of all group/individual members, however if any of the group member is not able to keep pace with the other, we would request them return to the place at the pre-fixed time.

Travel Tips: Do’s & Don’ts

Do’s

• At least a month before the Baba Baidyanath, Basukinath & Kanwar Yatra, it is advisable to start preparatory exercises: Even a brisk walk of about 4 to 5 km per day would be beneficial. Breathing exercises like Pranayama would help near Sea side or walking in sightseeing

• Ensure you are physically and mentally fit to perform the journey as the Yatra involves Kanwar Yatra  

• Always drink packaged drinking water.

• Eating boiled, cooked or fried food is a suggested rather than anything cold or raw. Avoid cold salads, raw vegetables, drinks with ice etc.

• Always ensure you have some dry eatables like chocolates, milk powder, dry fruits, glucose powder, sugar, candies, honey, lemons etc. with you

• When asking for directions, speak to shopkeepers, not pedestrians. Check with at least two persons or more.

• Always respect local customs

• If you are carrying Digital Camera or Handy cam, do carry extra pair of battery, as there is no guarantee if there is electricity for charging you equipment.

• Carry a small torch. It is essential equipment as lights can go off at any time.

•  Always carry a raincoat and an umbrella during travel

• Carry personal toilet items, they are very useful during the breaks in long journey of Gangasagar.

• Pack a medical kit with painkillers, antibiotics, cough lozenges and medicines for cold and fever and any personal medication that your previous medical history may deem necessary. It is always better to consult a doctor and ask his/her opinions before choosing what medication to carry.

• Do carry sufficient woollens clothes in winter season including sweaters, woollen thermal body warmers, trousers, monkey caps, mufflers, wind cheaters, raincoats, sleeping bags, blankets, water proof shoes with sufficient grips, torch with sufficient batteries and walking sticks. Suggested clothing for ladies- Salwar Kamiz, pants or any other body hugging clothes & it is recommended to avoid wearing sarees.

• Ensure that your luggage is waterproof.

Don’ts

• Do not take rest at places where boards displaying caution are placed.

• Do not take bath or clean your articles at /near water-bodies unless they are designated as Ghats for the same.

• Do not take pictures if cameras are not allowed in any particular area and always respect customs of locals.

• Do not throw wrappers of chocolates etc. on road during journey

•Do not try to wash hands/ clothes/ bath in the rivers en-route your way.

• Alcohol is strictly prohibited.

• Do not overstrain on steep gradients.

•Do not carry heavy Jewellery during journey.

Force Majeure: Bhakti Route shall not be liable to pay any compensation where the performance or prompt performance of our contractual obligations is prevented or affected by or you otherwise suffer any damage or loss as a result of “force majeure”. In these Booking Conditions, “force majeure” means any event which Bhakti Route or the supplier of the service(s) in question could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such events may include change in sightseeing or routing due to weather, political or traffic conditions, group/client(s)unable to reach the specified hotel for night stay or required to extend the stay in any hotel or stay at an alternate hotel due to traffic congestion, landslides, weather conditions, illness or any unforeseen circumstances whatsoever, war or threat of war, riot, civil strife, actual or threatened terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events outside our control. Bhakti Route and its associates are not liable for any compensation for damage caused by above force majeure situations or any other force majeure/ unforeseen events that Bhakti Route or its associates could not have prevented even through utmost care. Bhakti Route will aim to limit the damage and supplement cost that clients/agents will have to incur for making alternate arrangements deviating from the planned program due to any force majeure situation or otherwise. The alternate accommodation/arrangements would be subject to availability and on direct payment.

  • In case Clients not reach one place to another due to bad weather/political disturbance or any reason. Extra night accommodation hotel/Dharamshala/Tourist lodge  charge will be pay direct at hotel and transports
  • Guests will be responsible for their personal belongings such as mobile /camera/cash/ credit cards etc. Bhakti Route will not be responsible for loss of any such items. The accompanying escort/guide will assist in taking the client (s) to the nearest police station to file an FIR. Any cost incurred for the same will be borne by the client(s).
